Among the two floors of this facility, you will find several exhibits and attractions that encourage several different types of interaction. Among the impressive 650 exhibits, the kids will learn about such vast subjects as science, art, and perception, just to name a few. The Exploratorium is known as the first and foremost of the world's interactive museums and has won several awards for its consistent presentation of creative exhibits that offer an exceptional level of educational value.

If you or someone close to you loves to sew or simply create things, then Britex Fabrics is a must-visit. This impressive four-story structure houses what many consider to be the world's most extensive collection of fabrics. Everything from woolens to silks to couture and bridal laces can all be found here. There is also an extensive selection of cottons, linens, and various home decor fabrics that will help you finish that long-forgotten domestic project. Plus, you can have some fun with the variety of fake furs and remnants as well as handmade silk flowers, antique buttons and lots more!

The men and women who serve on our military forces always deserve special recognition for their hard work and diligent sacrifices. San Francisco goes a step further to celebrate their efforts with Fleet Week, held every October. Families of those currently serving as well as veterans and their families are sure to enjoy the events of Fleet Week that include such attractions as an air show by the Blue Angels, Team Oracle, and the Air Force's F-16 Demonstration Team. Other events that are part of the festival include a Marine Band concert, ship tours, a fireworks display, and a parade of ships.
