Every April, Stockton presents a very tasty celebration with the Stockton Asparagus Festival. The three-day multi-event has been held every year for the past 27 years, and continues to get more popular. Enjoy over 100 arts and crafts vendors as well as plenty of food and product vendors. This is the place where the world-famous Deep Fried Asparagus Eating Championship proudly takes place. This is the largest food festival in the Central Valley, and it also holds the distinction of being the state's largest charitable event.

The San Joaquin County Historical Society & Museum is a fascinating, multidimensional time capsule of the area. Learn about the settlement history, local terrain, homesteads and the role of the Gold Rush in the social and economic development of the region. Additionally, see exhibits on wine making, tractors, gardening and a blacksmith shop as well as a generous selection of antiques and furnishings. Plus, there are various demonstrations of how all of these items were pivotal in the lives of the area’s early inhabitants.

Fans of great theater entertainment in Stockton know that they can always count on the performances at the Delta Center for the Arts to always be a cut above the rest. These talented performers always give their all as the majority of the cast members and technical crew are drama students at San Joaquin Delta College. Their enthusiasm and passion for their art makes every performance a special experience that you will surely remember long after the curtain has come down.

Learn about all of the outdoor beauty you'll find at Stockton's Oak Grove Nature Center and Oak Grove Regional Park. The park offers plenty of great activities throughout the spring and summer that are designed to educate visitors about the plants, animals and ecosystem that all contribute to the area's obvious natural beauty. The trails remain open in the fall and winter but the Center's activities are limited to the constraints of the weather.
