Things To Do in Hartford, CT
One of Hartford’s premier cultural events is the Caribbean and Jerk Festival. It has been held every August for the past seven years and features both the upper and lower areas of Mortensen Riverfront Plaza transformed into a Caribbean village. The whole family will enjoy the variety of music and dance performances as well as authentic Caribbean fare offered by more than 25 vendors. There is also a children's activity area, a Caribbean carnival, and salsa merengue lessons.
Art that stays within expectations is alright, but that's not what you'll find at Hartford's Matrix Gallery. This is artwork that will challenge you and maybe even elicit feelings that bring about a new way of thinking. This gallery is located in the Wadsworth Atheneum and has attracted an impressive level of attention for its activist exhibitions and attractions that feature non-traditional media and themes that are meant to make the viewer just a little uncomfortable–but in a good way.
Hartford's Keney Golf Course is an ideal place to sharpen various aspects of your game. The practice ranges and greens offer a no-stress setting in which to comfortably practice. Once you get on the 18-hole course, you will find the level of difficulty is just slightly above average which will allow newer players as well as more experienced participants to enjoy a truly satisfying round of golf.
