In the wake of fast-moving progress, there were several buildings in Pinellas County slated for demolition. Luckily, these places were saved and moved to this location which features two dozen structures that include a store, a church, a school, an outhouse and several private residences from yesteryear that are still very much a part of today.

One way to do that is to enjoy a romantic date at Spa Beach Park and renting a paddleboat for a splashy excursion. This park is located at the base of St. Petersburg Pier and is a popular site for gatherings and events. So grab your picnic basket and suntan lotion and spend some amusing, enjoyable moments with the one you love.

Pirates of every shape, size and color descend on St. Petersburg's Vinoy Park every November for the Florida Pirate Festival. This event showcases various forms of interactive theater that celebrate the legendary Caribbean pirate tradition. The park becomes overrun with all things pirate, but also manages to include music, rides, comedy, cannons, storytelling, artisan crafts, nighttime fire shows and great food as well as a plethora of pirates!
