Pirates of every shape, size and color descend on St. Petersburg's Vinoy Park every November for the Florida Pirate Festival. This event showcases various forms of interactive theater that celebrate the legendary Caribbean pirate tradition. The park becomes overrun with all things pirate, but also manages to include music, rides, comedy, cannons, storytelling, artisan crafts, nighttime fire shows and great food as well as a plethora of pirates!

This park is located at the base of St. Petersburg Pier and is a popular site for gatherings and events. Florida football fans look forward to the season every year as it is another chance to see the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers take the field. The sports team is a member of the Southern Division of the National Football Conference. The team has been a consistent playoff contender and won Superbowl XXXVII at the end of the 2003 season. They play their home games at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
