Fans of Indy Car action look forward to the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg held every late March or early April. In addition to the Indy Car race, there is also an Indy Pro race and an American Le Mans Series race, all held on a waterfront track in downtown St. Petersburg. In addition to the races, there's also great live music to enjoy as well as family entertainment and other attractions.

Boyd Hill Nature Park offers you a chance to spend some time outdoors and encounter some of the area's wildlife without venturing too far from civilization. This impressive nature preserve is located south of St. Petersburg and spreads out over 245 acres of terrain that includes marshlands, lake shores, and forests. There are also several boardwalks and nature trails to discover. Special tours and nighttime hikes are offered, in addition to the popular kid's day camps.
