Nature's largest collection of flowering crab apple trees grow at Water Works Park located in Des Moines. The beautiful 1,500-acre park is skirted by the Raccoon River and besides apples, sports big outdoor activities like biking, jogging, and hiking and picnicking. There's a Raging River at Adventureland Park in Des Moines. Get wet and wild on the Splash Over, a human washing machine or the Gang Plank and Pirates Plummet, a high speed body slide that'll leave you gasping for air. Go ahead and venture out to land at over one hundred rides, shows and attractions.

"Taste your way around the world" at the World Food Festival at Des Moines. Last year's count says 32,000 foodie festival goers tasted foods from around the world at Cultural Cafe's, enjoyed live entertainment and watched fabulous cooking demonstrations. Special to the event is its highlight of flavors from local mom and pop restaurants!

Public Art is on tour at The Pappajohn Sculpture Park located in Des Moines. Discover sculptures by Willem de Kooning and Louise Bourgeois as well as other world-renowned sculptures valued at more than forty million dollars. The public donation by Mr. and Ms. Pappajohn is the largest in the state's history.
