See the African American influence on America’s favorite pastime at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. This unique specialty museum opened in 1990 with the mission of preserving this rich history. Learn about African American baseball players from the late 1800s to the 1960s as you tour through the multimedia displays, photographs, artifacts and attractions.
The Phoenix Jazz Club has thrived like its namesake since 1888. Located in the corner of downtown, the Phoenix was once a shady hotel, rumored to be more of a bordello and complete with a speakeasy saloon. Nowadays, this jazz club is known for its classy, relaxed nightlife atmosphere and is a great place to listen to the smooth tunes of a live band with friends.
