When KC’s original symphony orchestra was dissolved in 1982, the philanthropist R. Crosby Kemper Jr. insisted on creating the Kansas City Symphony. Since its formation, this new symphony orchestra has served as a vital part of the music community. Listen to their music at a show or sample before you purchase tickets by hearing their music on the radio or a CD.

Visit The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, where even the building is art. Inside of this neoclassical architecture you will find one of the largest collections of Asian art in America as well as a highly prized collection of European and American paintings, photography, sculptures and historic artifacts.
