Go on a truly high-flying adventure when you take the family to Topeka's Combat Air Museum. This is where history truly takes flight as you will marvel at the impressive collection of vintage aircraft. The museum boasts a collection of military and aviation oriented memorabilia that dates all the way back to World War I and spans history to include items of interest from the present day space shuttle missions. In addition to these impressive exhibits and attractions, you can also check out several missiles and a cannon that are on display.
The MacLennan Park Trails are located in northwest Topeka and offer some of the area's most stunning scenery as the recreation trail runs along the hills overlooking the Kansas River. There are two types of trails here–a limestone loop and a series of dirt single track hiking and biking trails. Access to the trails is available on the south side of the park on 6th Street, west of Fairlawn Road, as well as on the north side of the park on the west side of the Governor's Mansion.
