The Tallgrass Film Festival may be the launching pad for the next Steven Spielberg! To find out about all the great film-making talent in the area, make sure you head for this festival held the third week in October at various locations in downtown Wichita. This is the ninth annual festival, and it has built a solid tradition of allowing you to screen the best foreign, independent, short, retrospective and premiering films. The Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center allows visitors of all ages to journey from the earth to the moon. Aside from viewing actual spacecraft that make up the multidimensional exhibits and attractions, you can see rocket demonstrations as well as out-of-this-world features in the IMAX theater. Some of the most influential and pioneering figures are spotlighted in the Hall of Space Museum and other astronomically-themed displays.
