Creative Construction

Artbreak takes place every April and May. Students from Bossier and Caddo Parish take part in several hands-on art projects and also serve as judges for the various pieces that are completed. This festival is a weekend of dance, music, theater, food, fun and even a 5K race.

From the natural beauty of flowers and other regional foliage to the quest of the Native Americans, you'll see the various artistic essences of these subjects captured in the works on display at the R.W. Norton Art Gallery. Aside from the impressive paintings and photographs, there are various series of speakers and multimedia presentations that tell the stories behind some of these mesmerizing creations.

Looking for a fun nightlife spot you and your buddies can escape to and take a break from the kids and the office? How about the Sand Bar? It's a guy's guy bar, with beer from all over the world, pool tables, basket ball hoops, beer pong, and a DJ spinning your favorite songs. It's all spread out over three floors, with video screens everywhere running the latest sporting events from all over the country. If you don't have a man-cave at home, the Sand Bar can be your home away from home!

What's a trip to Louisiana without a glimpse of a gator? Gators and Friends Alligator Park and Exotic Zoo is an attraction that gets you up close and personal with giant alligators as they feed and frolic in their natural habitat. And if the gators aren't enough wildlife, there's a fully stocked petting zoo where you can see such sights as miniature horses, kangaroos, llamas and a camel! Plus, you can even help feed the animals when it gets to their feeding time. Get ready for a fun, interactive romp with nature you and your family will never forget!
