For 89 years, the Shreveport Little Theatre has been consistently staging productions that have put smiles on the faces of countless audiences. The entertainment venue relies on the talents of local actors and actresses to perform in their varied but consistently entertaining schedule of plays. From The Little Shop of Horrors to Hairspray, you're not far from a fun at this local tip-of-the-hat to the magic of Broadway.

Various facets of history all intersect at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum. From artifacts of some of the state's most high-profile figures to pieces from prehistoric life in the area, the dramatic sweep of these collected stories is breathtaking. The Louisiana State Exhibit Museum is a Smithsonian affiliate museum and features 18 world renowned dioramas and rotating exhibits. Science, technology, culture and history intertwine here, and the stories that they tell will give you a deeper sense of understanding and appreciation of what the state's founding fathers went through. Admission is always free and the museum is open seven days a week.

If the angler in you is ready to leave the workweek behind and start relaxing by catching some fish, Barron's Landing and Marina is the perfect place to escape. A great, friendly staff will make your time behind the fishing rod as stress-free as possible. It's your choice to either fish in the marina, where reeling in large bass is a frequent occurrence, or you can rent a Jon boat for only $40 and head out on your own. Either way, a great fishing excursion is only a few minutes away!
