The Robinson Film Center isn't just a place to watch movies. It is a portal to the future of film making in Shreveport, with special programs designed to create interest and awareness in the art of movie making and all that goes into their production and marketing. Various summer camps, lectures and seminars are held to bring this fascinating field to those interested in developing their talents in front of or behind the camera. Also, the Robinson Film Center does offer the chance to screen new releases, which sometimes include artier films that don't get shown in the commercial multiplexes.

If taking a break from your usual scene and expanding your world view sounds like fun, then check out the various collections of art on display at the Meadows Museum of Art. The museum's holdings include pieces that date back to the 1800s as well as pieces by American Impressionist Alfred Maurer, German Expressionist George Grosz, and Texas Regionalist Don Brown. It's a visually captivating trip that's sure to invigorate your senses.

Every spring, you'll find locals and visitors looking up to the skies because that's where all the action is during the Barksdale Air Show. Vintage aircraft is on display and in the air, and often the personnel who commandeer the planes are available for questions and photo ops with spectators. It's a supersonic time for the whole family!

Nearly every performer who steps out on stage dreams of one day finding fame and fortune. The talented men and women who found themselves in the spotlight of the stage at Shreveport's Municipal Auditorium are all honored at the Stage of Stars and Legends Museum. Thousands of photographs, personal effects and memorabilia are all gathered for visitors to see during one of the many daily guided tours.
