Hopscotch Music Festival is an annual 3-day music festival in downtown Raleigh featuring local, national, and international bands in a variety of genres — rock, hip-hop, metal, dance, punk, alt-country, classical, noise, drone, folk and more. More than 130 acts play in multiple venues within a walkable footprint in downtown Raleigh, with artists performing on an outdoor main stage and in many local clubs.

The Joel Lane Museum House tells the interesting story of how Raleigh came to be. As you walk through the house that is adorned with vintage furnishings and other genuine relics of the period, you'll hear the story of how Lane, a prominent statesman and soldier, sold the 1,000 acres of his land for the formation of a new capital in 1792.

The Burning Coal Theatre Company isn't your usual thespian experience. The actors are not only prepared with their cues and their lines, but they also are quite well-versed in improvisation and playing off of whatever kind of audience for which they are performing.
