Art is in the air every May as nearly 70,000 people convene in Raleigh for the annual Artsplosure. It is one of North Carolina's most well-attended and well-respected outdoor art events. The festival is held in the Moore Square Park area in downtown Raleigh and features more than 250 visual and performance artists. The weekend-long celebration is typically held on the third weekend of May and is free to the public.

If just riding your bike isn't quite enough for you, let your inner daredevil come to the surface at Capital City BMX. The BMX Track races are organized according to age groups and skill levels to ensure fair but always dramatic competition. The BMX program is sanctioned by the American Bicycle Association. Spectators are admitted for free.

Put the pedal to the metal at the Rush Hour Karting track. This is a fun, state-of-the-art indoor raceway, where you can get your kart to go as fast as 40 miles per hour as you compete for the best time and the championship title!

Make your way to the CupCake Shoppe and choose from 11 different kinds of cupcakes that also include seasonal favorites, muffins, cookies, milk and coffee. Even if you think you want just one or two, take several for your family and friends...or maybe a couple to eat in the car on the way home!
