In the heart of Newark’s IronBound district, you’ll find Krug’s Tavern. Visit the landmark Loew’s Jersey Theatre, an entertainment venue that hosts numerous community events, live performances and film screenings on its large stage and single-screen theater. One of the five Loew’s Wonder Theatres, this Baroque/Rococo building underwent several changes since it first opened in 1929 but is currently being renovated and restored to its original design with a few technological upgrades.
Although the New York Red Bulls may represent the Big Apple, you’ll find their home arena in the Garden State. Come by the Red Bull Arena to see this sports team face their competitors head-on. A charter club of the Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference, the Red Bulls do not have the best domestic record–even though they were the first MLS team to win a trophy outside of North America.
