Located in Liberty State Park, the Liberty Science Center is a fun, interactive science museum where children (and adults) can turn learning into an adventure! Explore the exhibits and attractions and learn about the local environment, ecosystem and the creatures that live there, as well as other topics like energy sources, global health and human communication.

Although still under construction, the Hackensack RiverWalk offers hikers and bikers an excellent urban walkway. This eight-mile recreation trail follows along the Hackensack Riverfront and the Newark Bay. Many residential areas and parks are connected by this greenway already, and Hudson County plans for more sections to come.

Come by the New Jersey Performing Arts Center for an unforgettable performance! The NJPAC, one of the largest performing arts centers in the country, has played a vital role in revitalizing downtown Newark. This enormous entertainment complex features four prominent performance halls and theaters–Prudential Hall, Victoria Hall, The Chase Room, and Horizon Theater.

Rock the jukebox over at McGovern’s Tavern. A nightlife favorite of Rutgers Law School students, this traditional Irish pub offers your typical fare as far as food and drinks go but also incorporates fun, friendly events each week. Join in for weekly Monday Night Football or Trivia Tuesday, as well as special performances.
