Santa Fe Performing Arts is a place that is constantly abuzz with entertainment from talented performers and artistic visionaries whose mission it is to continue to further the arts in Santa Fe. The group works hard to provide the community with an affordable performing arts facility with its ultimate goal being to nurture talented individuals to pursue their love of the arts. The venue also offers office space for non-profit performing arts organizations and provides a vibrant environment in which ideas can be exchanged and new artistic partnerships can be formed.
When a friend recommends a bar or restaurant, you tend to agree with them to a certain extent. But when a place gets high marks from an impressive source like International Newsweek magazine touting it as one of the world's best bars, you tend to pay even more attention. Santa Fe's Dragon Room is a nightlife destination that deserves all the kudos it has amassed, as the venue is both a stylish and comfortable place to relax and have a few drinks. The bar is also associated with the Pink Adobe restaurant and that team-up makes it the city's ultimate destination for dinner, wine and cocktails.
The Native American role in Santa Fe's rich history is a significant one, and that fact is celebrated every May with the Native Treasures Indian Arts Festival. Shop for beautiful jewelry and other one-of-a-kind pieces made by more than 180 established and emerging artists from the Native American pueblos and tribes. The proceeds from the event benefit the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture.
Santa Fe's highly appealing outdoor amenities are celebrated year-round at Hyde Memorial State Park. You'll find several excellent spots to enjoy a picnic or just relax as you toss the frisbee around with the kids and enjoy the scenery. There's also more fun to be had on the hiking trails that offer still another chance to get closer to the amazing natural beauty of the park. Camping is another attraction, as the park offers 350 acres of woods and meadows. Plus, the park is located just three miles south of the Santa Fe Ski area which makes it a great stop during ski season.
