When you Ski Santa Fe, you are in for a ride that defies description at every turn. Santa Fe Mountain looms large on the horizon, as its 12,000-foot summit is a truly commanding presence on the scenic skyline. The mountain offers 1,650 vertical feet of excellent skiing for both beginners and seasoned pros over 44 trails. There are equipment rentals available for skiing as well as for snowboarding and snow blading. You won't want to miss a minute of this fun-filled, highly scenic adventure during skiing season that traditionally runs for three weeks in late September into October.
When you plan a romantic evening out, get dressed up to enjoy a date night of classic performances with The Santa Fe Opera. Even though the season is relatively short (July and August only), planning early for that special evening will definitely pay off. Purchasing your seats and making the arrangements with plenty of lead time will ensure that you not only get great seats, but you can also plan to enjoy additional amenities. You'll want to get to the venue early to enjoy a pre-performance buffet and then mingle for a while as the two of you marvel at the breathtaking beauty of the Opera House itself.
The Santa Fe National Forest is situated on a staggering 1.6 million acres at an altitude of 13,000 feet. Nature lovers find that there is plenty to admire about this outdoor oasis, not the least of which are the diverse ecosystems that give life to a large variety of fish, animals, and various species of birds. This particular site is one of five national forests in New Mexico and features some of the finest mountain scenery in the country, if not the world!
