The Matinée
The Matinee was started in Akron’s Highland Square historic area in the fall of 2006. It was opened by Mario Nemr (and pals), the long time resident DJ at Akron’s infamous alternative nightclub, Thursday's Lounge. The Matinee became an instant hit within the local Akron music scene. Local and national bands are attracted to its warm atmosphere, small stage, and a great sound system. In addition, an excellent beer and wine list made it a welcoming spot for just about any person who enjoys the nightlife.
Brandywine Gorge Trail
Walk along the spectacular Brandywine Gorge Trail to get an unhindered view of the 60-foot waterfall. Follow the 1.5-mile recreation trail and boardwalk to get up close and personal with some of the most breathtaking natural beauties in all of Akron.
