Step back in time at the Hower House, a 28-room Victorian Mansion built in 1871 by John Henry Hower. This Akron Industrialist’s mansion remained well preserved and eventually was declared a National Historic Landmark. Take a public or private tour to see the collection of Victorian-era treasures and furnishings that have been collected over the decades.
Walk along the spectacular Brandywine Gorge Trail to get an unhindered view of the 60-foot waterfall. Follow the 1.5-mile recreation trail and boardwalk to get up close and personal with some of the most breathtaking natural beauties in all of Akron. Explore beyond the waterfall and see some of the other interesting features along the gorge and creek.
Since 1993, the Ballet Theatre of Ohio has brought their performances to the Akron Civic Theatre each season. You can also see them dance during collaborations with Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens and the Akron Symphony Orchestra.
