See the Akron Racers beat out their competitors at the Firestone Stadium. This professional women’s softball team has been on the Ohio sports scene for over a decade and has proudly netted an all-time win-lose record of 149-94. These sports champs are part of the National Pro Fastpitch League. Come decked out in black, red and gray to show your support for these lovely ladies!
Get out to Lock 3 Park for some fun at this outdoor amphitheater known as Akron’s hub of outdoor excitement. Pack a blanket and a picnic, and you are set to enjoy the show! From May through September, jam out to weekend concerts under the open skies, Akron's biggest festivals, and a large number of community events, including the City of Akron's official 4th of July fireworks display. Winter is also a blast with a host of attractions that include Ohio's largest seasonal outdoor ice skating rink, Reindeer Run sledding hill, holiday shopping, Breakfast's with Santa, Polar Putt-Putt and more. Winter is kicked-off every year with the Downtown Holiday Lighting Ceremony exploding the night sky with fireworks.
Stretching beside the Ohio & Erie Canal, the Towpath Trail winds and climbs through four distinct areas: Akron, Barberton, PPG Industries and Clinton. Use the open 21.5-mile recreation pathway to walk, jog, run, hike or bike while taking in the gorgeous sights. Fishing and camping are also allowed along the trail, as well as cross-country skiing during the snowy months.
