Let the soothing sounds of the Akron Symphony Orchestra carry you away from your everyday worries and stresses. Founded in 1949, this professional symphonic orchestra has served as a pillar to the Akron musical and cultural communities. As the driving musical force in the community, the Akron Symphony has become widely recognized for its musical excellence and versatility.

Walk along the spectacular Brandywine Gorge Trail to get an unhindered view of the 60-foot waterfall. Follow the 1.5-mile recreation trail and boardwalk to get up close and personal with some of the most breathtaking natural beauties in all of Akron. Explore beyond the waterfall and see some of the other interesting features along the gorge and creek.

Get out to Lock 3 Park for some fun at this outdoor amphitheater known as Akron’s hub of outdoor excitement. Pack a blanket and a picnic, and you are set to enjoy the show!  From May through September, jam out to weekend concerts under the open skies, Akron's biggest festivals, and a large number of community events, including the City of Akron's official 4th of July fireworks display.  Winter is also a blast with a host of attractions that include Ohio's largest seasonal outdoor ice skating rink, Reindeer Run sledding hill, holiday shopping, Breakfast's with Santa, Polar Putt-Putt and more. Winter is kicked-off every year with the Downtown Holiday Lighting Ceremony exploding the night sky with fireworks.
