Or, take a spontaneous carriage ride at Station Square, where carriage services are available most Friday and Saturday evenings from May through October. Get a tour of Station Square, take a romantic Moonlight River Ride or familiarize yourself with the city on the Downtown Tour.

Let your competitive side show at the Pittsburgh Paintball Park. Battle other teams in a full sized arena, complete with a multitude of obstacles and artificial grass. You are welcome to bring your own sports equipment or rent from the facility. Call ahead to make a reservation or join in open play on Sunday.

Bring the entire family out to the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens and immerse yourself in a wonderful world of botanical attractions. Stroll through an authentic Japanese Garden, an amazing Aquatic Garden and the Discovery Garden, designed with kids in mind. Or, head inside the conservatory for exotic plants from around the world.

You may have to drive a bit to get to the Big Butler Fair, but the trip is worth it. One of the largest and best festivals in Western Pennsylvania, Big Butler is a chance to enjoy fireworks, the midway, games, demolition derbies, concerts and truck pulls that are not typically seen in Pittsburgh.
