Bikers and hikers will love the Montour Trail. Part of the Great Allegheny Passage that stretches from Pittsburgh to Washington, D.C., this particular section consists of a multi-use non-motorized recreational rail-trail near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. New sections are being added each year, so expect the 40-mile trail to continue growing.

You may have to drive a bit to get to the Big Butler Fair, but the trip is worth it. One of the largest and best festivals in Western Pennsylvania, Big Butler is a chance to enjoy fireworks, the midway, games, demolition derbies, concerts and truck pulls that are not typically seen in Pittsburgh.

You may be in for a surprise when you enter New Amsterdam. What looks like a dive bar on the outside is transformed into a clean, cool and sophisticated bar and lounge. Enjoy gourmet pub grub, a full service bar featuring a slew of microbrews on tap and classic hip-hop from the jukebox. Stop on the weekend for awesome dance parties at this nightlife destination!

Get active at Highland Park. Located in the Highland Park neighborhood, the municipal park of the same name offers a variety of outdoor activities for people of all ages during all seasons. Visit the Pittsburgh Zoo to see the wildlife, learn about the importance of drinking water at the reservoirs, climb up Mount Bigelow or take advantage of the two sand volley ball courts, tennis courts, walking trails, and playgrounds.
