See a performance envisioned by the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, the oldest degree-granting drama program in the United States. This university theater showcases the works of its undergraduate acting, musical theater, directing, design, dramaturgy, production and technology management students in every show.

You may be in for a surprise when you enter New Amsterdam. What looks like a dive bar on the outside is transformed into a clean, cool and sophisticated bar and lounge. See the stars, or at least a place where they study the stars, at the University of Pittsburgh’s Allegheny Observatory. This national historic landmark has been a vital part of American astronomical research since 1859. Nowadays, the Allegheny Observatory is open to free public tours from April until the end of October.

Get wild at Idlewild Park and Soak Zone, one of the oldest amusement parks in the country. Take a ride on a "Classic Coaster," travel to the top of the Ferris wheel or test your nerves on the Tilt-A-Whirl. Once you have sampled the traditional amusement park rides, head over to the Soak Zone to cool down with some water recreation during the summer months.
