Members of the Major League Baseball and winners of five World Series titles, the Pirates are also age-old rivals of the Philadelphia Phillies despite being in different leagues. This sports rivalry dates all the way back to the Pirates origin in 1887.

Part of Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, Theater Square is home to some of the best entertainment in the Steel City. The 330,000-square-foot complex contains the Backstage Bar, Café Zao, Cabaret at Theater Square, WQED FM and biggest parking garage in the area, as well as a box office where you can purchase tickets for many surrounding theaters.

Stop by Pittsburgh’s "front porch," the Emerald View Park that loops around and through the Mt. Washington, Duquesne Heights and Allentown neighborhoods. This impressive urban byway preserves a unique combination of natural beauty and manmade architecture. See some of Pittsburgh’s most beautiful outdoor scenery including rivers, lush green hills, and rolling vistas set against the city’s skyline.

See the stars, or at least a place where they study the stars, at the University of Pittsburgh’s Allegheny Observatory. This national historic landmark has been a vital part of American astronomical research since 1859. Nowadays, the Allegheny Observatory is open to free public tours from April until the end of October.
