The home was built for Colonel Francis Alexander Ramsey and his residence became the center of social, political and religious life in Knoxville at the turn of the 19th century. The Ewing Gallery, located on the campus of the University of Tennessee, is an impressive venue that features over 3,000 square feet of exhibition space and 300 running feet of wall space that are all perfectly utilized to present some memorable works of art.
