Formerly the Memphis Cotton Carnival, Carnival Memphis has been around since 1931. This annual celebration consists of a series of parties and festivals similar to Mardi Gras. During the month of June, the Carnival Memphis Association and its krewes select a King, Queen, and Royal Court to reign over the festivities, including parades and events celebrating local industries.
Check out the best, and only, pool hall on Beale Street for a place to kick back and have some fun. People's Billiard Club offers a relaxed atmosphere and is filled with pool tables and big screen TVs playing the latest in sports. The fully stocked bar sells a small menu of items, including pizza.

This theater showcases many plays, ranging from serious dramas to lighthearted musicals, which present GLBT concerns and themes.
