Listen to a performance in an outdoor setting at the Handy Park Amphitheater during the evenings. Handy Park is located downtown on famous Beale Street. This beautiful park has plenty of space on the lawn and between the trees to spread out a blanket as you take in the music of different bands, from blues to rock.

Burke's Books provides a home for wild, homeless books. Check out the second-hand and rare book selections, as well as a handful of newest novels fresh off the presses. This charming independent bookstore is said to be one of the oldest in the country, having opened in 1875.

Indulge in your sweet tooth with Dinstuhl's Fine Candy Company. This locally owned and operated candy company has been making Memphis a little sweeter since 1902 with goodies like chocolates, truffles, fudge and chocolate covered fruit. Visitors to the Mid-South may want to enjoy a few southern favorites.

Go on a water recreation adventure with Ghost River Canoe and Kayak Rentals. Follow the well-marked canoe trail in the Wolf River. This 8.5-mile trail includes many turns, beautiful cypress, wildlife sightings, a trip through Spirit Lake and the mystic Ghost Section. Located about half an hour outside of Memphis, this part of the river is great for more experienced paddlers but not recommended for beginners.
