With two lakes and miles of hiking trails, Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park is perfect for boating, biking and outdoor activities. Enjoy swimming, fishing, horseback riding and disc golf at this beautiful park. Pack a tent and camp among the large oak, cypress and tupelo trees or rent a cabin and enjoy modern luxuries in the woods.
Rent a pair of roller-skates or bring your own and head out onto the rink at the Cordova Skating Center. This skating center is open to the public every afternoon except Tuesdays, during skating lessons, and is a popular place for birthday parties. There is also an arcade area, for those not interested in skating.

Join residents as they celebrate Memphis in May, a month-long festival featuring four main events: the Beale Street Music Festival, International Week, the World Championship Barbeque Cooking Contest and the Sunset Symphony. The oldest and most successful community theater in the state, Theatre Memphis was founded in 1920 and continues to provide Memphis with enriching theatrical performances and entertainment. Theatre Memphis runs a yearlong season, with 10-11 shows and a sprinkling of special events each season. Catch a variety of performances, from drama to comedy to musicals, such as Chicago, Emma, The Importance of Being Earnest and the annual A Christmas Carol.
