Hattiloo Theatre is a Black repertory theatre company that is dedicated to developing a Black theater that is accessible to, relevant to, and reflective of a multicultural community. The theater stages at least seven major productions and about six special performances authored by Black writers each entertainment season.

Check out the best, and only, pool hall on Beale Street for a place to kick back and have some fun. People's Billiard Club offers a relaxed atmosphere and is filled with pool tables and big screen TVs playing the latest in sports. The fully stocked bar sells a small menu of items, including pizza.

Take in the beauty of Memphis at Overton Park. Home to the zoo, Brooks Art Museum, an amphitheater, a golf course and the Memphis College of the Arts, this sprawling park has outdoor and indoor activities for the entire family. One of the original shops on Beale Street, A. Schwab's is an old-fashioned dry goods store that also sells voodoo paraphernalia. This shop contains every item imaginable in its football field sized building. Browse through the hundreds of unique specialty items and souvenirs.
