Arlington's Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration takes place every January. There are plenty of activities planned at this festival, as well as live music, artwork from area students, and invited speakers that all pay homage to the life and mission of Dr. King. There is also an essay and artwork contest held in conjunction with the festivities.

It is a constantly interesting and invariably diverse mix of University of Texas Arlington students, "regulars" and interesting characters and always a go-to spot for many and waiting for you tonight. Showdown often runs specials such as the Happy Minutes, UTA Day and the Mug Club and that is in addition to the already great prices.
