The Arlington Museum of Art has maintained an impressive tradition of fostering the creativity of artists from all around the world and then giving them a venue in which their work can be appreciated. This museum and art attraction maintains an active schedule of various exhibits, programs and events all designed to further the importance of artistic expression in the community. There are also special presentations for students and various groups, as well as classes and other special events throughout the year that serve to underscore the importance of art in all of our lives.
Arlington's Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration takes place every January. There are plenty of activities planned at this festival, as well as live music, artwork from area students, and invited speakers that all pay homage to the life and mission of Dr. King. There is also an essay and artwork contest held in conjunction with the festivities.
The Arlington Music Hall is the perfect host for a wide range of experiences for all ages – Country, Pop, Rock, Classical, Comedy and Musical Theatre. We’re also the home to SYMPHONY ARLINGTON, who performs a series of monthly concerts throughout its annual season.
If you've got a future scientist in the family, or even if you and your brood just love stargazing, then a trip to the Planetarium at UT Arlington will prove to be the perfect intergalactic adventure. The out-of-this-world tool makes it possible to get an unbelievably close view of various stars and planets through their highly-powered telescope that is projected onscreen in the 165-seat viewing area. Also, the dome animation show is absolutely stunning. The Planetarium at UT Arlington does an excellent job of bringing the adventure of outer space up close for you and your family to discover and learn.
