Enter the Arlington Bass Classic in April for grand prizes and drawings. Contestants may fish anywhere on tournament waters available to the public and accessible by boat, except areas posted or otherwise designated as off-limits. Kayak and shore fishing are allowed, registered as individual competitors. Only artificial lures may be used for fishing. No live bait is permitted. Only 1 rod at a time, per fisherman may be used.

Showdown often runs specials such as the Happy Minutes, UTA Day and the Mug Club and that is in addition to the already great prices. They also have a bar-style menu that will do the trick when you need a late, fried up snack, free peanuts, pool tables, a great jukebox and good music and even a place where you can do your laundry. Drive on by and experience the dive/biker feel, a welcoming outside covered area and all in all a good hole-in-the-wall bar. 

Arlington's Upstairs Gallery has maintained an impressive forty-year tradition of featuring the work of Arlington-area artists as well as the work of artisans from the surrounding metro-plex. That scope has produced a truly unique collection of work, from the traditional to the modern, presented in various mediums. The gallery also encourages budding artists to follow their muse by offering classes for kids, teenagers and adults over the course of the year.
