It’s never too early or too late to connect with people, share ideas, create experiences, and have a great time. Create colorful works of art, take apart toys or build and launch gliders at the Spark Shop. See, feel and hear the connections between water and sound at the Currents exhibit. Find out how color, light and shadows impact the environment at the Light Lab. Participate in sensory exploration, chemical reactions and edible minerals in the Kitchen Lab. Imagine buying and selling delicious fruits and vegetables, or collecting eggs from a pretend chicken coop in Fresh! Farmers’ Market. Step outside to the Backyard and scale the heights of a universally-accessible, custom-designed climber, or rest under the branches of a native elm tree.
Onion Creek Club, Austin's most historic golf club, was founded in 1974 by three-time Masters Champion, Jimmy Demaret, and golf legend, Jimmie Connolly. Onion Creek is known mainly for being the "Birthplace of the Senior PGA Tour" hosting the first ever Senior PGA event in 1978, and has built a rich tradition of understated elegance based on quality and family values. The Club’s full range of sports, fitness, dining and social activities caters to every member of the family. The Legends of Golf was held at Onion Creek Club from 1978-1989. Professional Golf reappeared in Austin at Onion Creek Club hosting The Harvey Pennick Invitation, an LPGA Tour Event from 1999-2001.Their golf membership options offer year-round golfing privileges for members and their families.
Make a pilgrimage to the Stevie Ray Vaughan Statue, erected at Auditorium Shores on Lady Bird Lake. The late blues guitarist was one of Austin's most famous home-grown talents celebrated around the world. Visitors often pose to take pictures or leave flowers in the statue's hands or at its feet.
