This is an impressive entertainment venue that features the work of the city's premier professional theater organization. While the main focus of this group is musical theater, they also present an interesting variety of other productions throughout the season. The Virginia Zoo takes great pride in continuing the tradition of education, recreation and conservation. Located just a short drive from Chesapeake in Norfolk, this impressive facility houses such family favorites as elephants, giraffes, monkeys, lions, tigers and many more amazing creatures. There is always something special going on that is sure to please even the most discerning nature enthusiast, including special animal exhibits, safari-type tours, and various seasonal events.

It is not often when you get the chance to not only revisit history, but to also walk along its path. You get to have that experience in a truly dramatic way when you visit the Virginia Civil War Trails that begin with the Village of the Great Bridge, which is located at the crossing of the Albemarle and Chesapeake canals. Other stops along the way inclusde Village of Deep Creek, Glencoe, Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery and Cuffeytown 13.

Indian River Park features a challenging bike trail that shares an equal amount of BMX and Mountain bike traffic. There are lots of technical challenges here that include narrow bridges, jumps, logs and titer-toters.
