History and astronomy come together in a dazzling way at the Chesapeake Planetarium. From an historic standpoint, the facility is significant because it is the first planetarium built by a public school system in the state of Virginia. But this attraction also offers visitors a chance to gaze into the night sky and be amazed at the intricate patterns and formations that make up the constellations everyone has heard about. Even though Fort Norfolk requires a little extra effort to visit if you are in Chesapeake, the short drive is well worth it if you are a fan of history. This fort is the last remaining structure of an original 19 forts that were built back in 1794 on the order of President George Washington. When you arrive you will be immediately struck by the fort's outward design, and once you step through the archway that leads to the interior, you will feel like you have traveled back in time. Your visit isn't about looking at everything from the view of an outsider–you will actually get to do some work on this dairy farm as part of the fun! This farm was originally founded by Titus Bergey in 1931 and still offers fresh milk in bottles, butter and sweet homemade ice cream produced right on this charming farm.

Get in the game at Chesapeake's popular Long Shots Billiards and Darts. This is where the action is, as the popular indoor recreation venue holds regular league dart competitions. There are also plenty of regulation pool tables, television screens featuring the best in sports, and a deep beer selection to keep the fun going all night!
