Visit the birthplace of modern Seattle at the Pioneer Square District. This area served as the city´s first neighborhood and urban center, and is currently protected as a historical district with several preserved buildings and homes from the Victorian era and earlier. Visit some of the local shops and art galleries as well, when you are in the area.
Explore the over 300 acres of Green Lake Park, an expanse of water and nature in the middle of a crowded urban neighborhood. Pack a basket for a picnic, bring your swimsuit to go swimming or boating in the freshwater lake, or hike, bike and skate along the 2.8-mile path that stretches along the water.
If you visit Seattle University, be sure to show your support for the Seattle Redhawks. These intercollegiate varsity athletic teams consist of eight men´s sports and nine women´s. Part of the NCAA Division I, the Redhawks compete against other universities in baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, swimming and more.
