Take a trip through time at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, the Pacific Northwest´s only major natural history museum. The oldest museum in the state, this museum features over 12 million artifacts and attractions in its permanent collection, as well as a host of continuously changing temporary exhibits.

Walk through the outdoor sculpture garden on a romantic date at the Olympic Sculpture Park, operated by the Seattle Art Museum. This public park features large, contemporary sculptures in both permanent and visiting installations. In addition to admiring the beautiful art and meandering through the green landscaping, you can also take a stroll down the beach.

Explore the over 300 acres of Green Lake Park, an expanse of water and nature in the middle of a crowded urban neighborhood. Pack a basket for a picnic, bring your swimsuit to go swimming or boating in the freshwater lake, or hike, bike and skate along the 2.8-mile path that stretches along the water.

Visit the university district near the University of Washington for a wonderful day of watery fun. The UW Waterfront Activities Center offers canoe and rowboat rentals to the general public, as well as special discounts for students, alumni, faculty and staff. Spend a day on the water enjoying recreation almost any day of the week from January until November.
