Visit the birthplace of modern Seattle at the Pioneer Square District. This area served as the city´s first neighborhood and urban center, and is currently protected as a historical district with several preserved buildings and homes from the Victorian era and earlier. Visit some of the local shops and art galleries as well, when you are in the area.
Be blown away by the beauty of Wallace Falls. Located in the enormous Wallace Falls State Park, with nine waterfalls (one that is 265-feet!), local wildlife, coniferous forests and lakeside shorelines, is one of the most amazing places to view nature. See these sights and more along the dozens of recreation trails filling 4,735-acre camping park.
Explore the over 300 acres of Green Lake Park, an expanse of water and nature in the middle of a crowded urban neighborhood. Pack a basket for a picnic, bring your swimsuit to go swimming or boating in the freshwater lake, or hike, bike and skate along the 2.8-mile path that stretches along the water.
Let your wild side run free at the Woodland Park Zoo. See over 1,000 animals, representing 300 species, in large, immersive exhibits and attractions. Walk along the Northern Trail, travel through the Tropical Rain Forest, traverse the African Savanna, learn interactively at the Zoomazium and much, much more.
