Make some memories at the Northwest Folklife Festival. This annual festival brings some of the city´s best local, ethnic, folk and traditional arts and music to the Seattle Center for a free three-day party over Memorial Day weekend. Take in the spirit of the Northwest as you visit the vendors selling all kinds of foods and handmade goods.
Seattle is known for its delicious brews, but Espresso Vivace Roasteria offers something much different than the Starbucks and Seattle´s Best chains found throughout the city. Opened in 1988 and inspired by Northern Italian espresso, Espresso Vivace creates their drinks with the motto "una bella tazza di caffe"–a beautiful cup of coffee.
Head out to the ballgame at Safeco Field, where you can see the Seattle Mariners put on an excellent sports show. The "M"s are part of the Major League Baseball´s American League and set the American League record for most wins in a single season after winning 116 games in 2001.
Visit the birthplace of modern Seattle at the Pioneer Square District. This area served as the city´s first neighborhood and urban center, and is currently protected as a historical district with several preserved buildings and homes from the Victorian era and earlier. Visit some of the local shops and art galleries as well, when you are in the area.
