Maintaining law and order anywhere is a big challenge, but consider how big the task becomes when your beat is a state as big as Alaska! The stories and the triumphs of that endeavor are what make the Alaska Law Enforcement Museum such an interesting place. The museum touts the fact that their mission is to preserve the history of law enforcement in the last frontier, and the exhibits do an above average job of allowing visitors to experience what that history was all about. Vintage patrol cars, communication devices, uniforms and more all help to tell this truly remarkable story of resilience and love for the law no matter what the circumstances.

The Tony Knowles Coastal Trail was named for the Anchorage mayor and Alaska governor. This trail extends for ten miles from downtown Anchorage to Kincaid Park. The paved thoroughfare is popular with all kinds of outdoorsmen and athletic-types like in-line skaters, bikers, and walkers. The section of the trail that stretches through Westchester Lagoon is tagged as the "fitness trail" and features chin-up bars, steps and other items that encourage cross training among the trail's visitors. Also, the trail is not without its natural beauty, as moose, whales and birds can be seen from several vantage points.

The Alaska State Fair gathers many of the state's residents from all over and brings them together for a festival that is not only filled with music and food, but it recognizes all of the cultural and social differences that go to make Alaska the truly remarkable state that it is. Alaskans come to showcase their monster veggies, crafts, culinary creations and lots more. Also, there are agricultural contests, farm exhibits, the Alaska State Rodeo as well as nationally recognized performers.

The kids will be in for a totally new adventure when you take them to H2Oasis Indoor Waterpark. They'll enjoy some wet and wild fun in water attractions like the wave pool, the Master Blaster, huge body slides, and even experience the intensity of one of the six water cannons! If you have smaller children, there's the children's lagoon for them to enjoy some more age-appropriate fun. Also, you and the kids will enjoy floating down the 575-foot lazy river.
