The Alaska Native Heritage Center attracts both visitors and locals who are drawn to the incredible selection of native crafts, artwork, and other unique items that are for sale. Beyond shopping, there are several demonstrations, art classes, informal lectures and workshops where you can learn about the 11 Native Alaskan groups and their cultures and traditions. There is also a museum section that features indoor exhibits and outdoor village attractions.

The kids will be in for a totally new adventure when you take them to H2Oasis Indoor Waterpark. They'll enjoy some wet and wild fun in water attractions like the wave pool, the Master Blaster, huge body slides, and even experience the intensity of one of the six water cannons! If you have smaller children, there's the children's lagoon for them to enjoy some more age-appropriate fun. Also, you and the kids will enjoy floating down the 575-foot lazy river. Since Alaska features such an expansive and rustic landscape, it's no wonder that its development and growth owes much to the field of aviation. The Alaska Aviation Museum documents the role that aviation has played in the state's history and growth from 1897 up to the present day. You'll see exhibits and attractions that tell the story of Alaska's WWII fliers, early bush pilots, as well as efforts to preserve vintage aircraft. The museum is located at the largest seaplane facility in the world, and all that space affords the presentation of scale models, restored planes and even a theater that presents films on the various aircraft.

Flattop Mountain is Anchorage's most popular day hike. The mountain is a towering 3,510-foot formation and it proves to be the perfect hike for both veteran and beginning hikers. This is a 3-mile round trip hike that includes good views of Alaska Range, Cook Inlet and Anchorage itself.
