Inside, you'll find an amazing collection of vintage furniture, photographs, books and other pieces that have been meticulously cared for and all help recreate a time that is still very much alive when you visit this quaint but significant structure.

Got your rod and reel but don't know where to cast your line? Two of the most popular fishing spots near Anchorage are Bird Creek and Mat-Su Valley Lakes. Bird Creek is where you may find silver and good pink salmon at the end of your line. The creek is about an hour's drive south of downtown Anchorage. The Fur Rendezvous Festival held in late February or early March dates back to the early 1900s when trappers and miners came back from the wilderness to trade, socialize and compete in survival-type games. The event has been updated somewhat, and now those games consist of a weight pull, sled dog races, snowshoe softball games, ice sculpture competitions and lots more. There's also the popular Miners and Trappers costume ball, so make plans to be a part of this fun, week-long event.
