With numerous interactive exhibits, thought-provoking larger-than-life Giant Screen films, and fun, hands-on educational programming, the Exploreum Science Center aspires to increase science literacy among the people of south Alabama and the Gulf Coast region, residents and visitors alike. By sparking imagination, creating curiosity and instilling a sense of wonder in the world, the Exploreum has been a cornerstone of informal learning on the Gulf Coast since its inception more than 35 years ago. 

Breathing in the salt air and feeling your toes in the sand as the sun warms your face are just part of the sensory experiences you'll enjoy when you visit Gulf Shores. This is one of South Alabama's more popular attractions. The public beach features such amenities as a boardwalk, open-air pavilions and picnic areas. Gulf Shores Beach stretches out to include several access points along Highway 182 to include 13th, 6th, 5th, 4th, and 2nd Streets. An additional point of interest is Lagoon Park which is located at Lee Callaway Bridge that offers calm, shallow waters as well as restroom facilities and plenty of parking.

The kids will love the sights, sounds and attractions while mom and dad will enjoy the historical aspects of the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park. This great family attraction allows you the opportunity to tour two National Historic Landmarks. These are the USS Alabama and Submarine USS Drum as well as an incredible display of 20 rare and historic aircraft. In addition to touring the vessels, you can take a little bit of this history home with you when you buy an item from the gift shop.

It's great when the kids can get some great exercise and have a great time doing it. That is exactly what they will experience when you take them to Mobile's Xtreme Paintball. This sport isn't for the fainthearted, as it is not played indoors but out on an expansive and highly challenging outdoor field. Whether it's a birthday party, a special family occasion or just because, the whole family will love the intensity and the non-stop adrenaline rush that a round of extreme paintball at Xtreme Paintball can bring. Field hours on the weekends vary depending on the number of participants.
