Among the many cultural influences that have shaped Mobile's history, the African-American contribution is highly significant. That fact is rightfully celebrated at the National African-American Archives and Museum. You will be truly impressed with the breathtaking Greek Revival-style architecture that features large white pillars and an unmistakeable 19th century timeless quality. When you tour the mansion, you'll be immediately struck by your tour guides as they are dressed in the finery of the day that add an air of authenticity to your visit. The rooms are adorned to look much as they did before the Civil War, and they feature American and European antiques as well as items that actually belonged to the people who once dwelled in this incredible structure.

For those nights when you and your friends want to venture out but don't want to have to deal with uppity attitudes, thankfully there's a place like the Midtown Pub. This fun nightlife hangout features pool tables, lots of comfortable tables and two huge TVs. The charm and laid-back vibe of the Midtown Pub make it a favorite of everyone from young professionals to old timers to college students. And, it doesn't hurt that the bar stays open from 12 noon to the wee hours of the morning.
