Take in a football game or concert with today's top headliners at EverBank Field. The stadium recently underwent a $47 million facelift and is located downtown, next to the St. Johns River. Already, the sports venue is in the history books for breaking attendance records when it hosted Super Bowl XXXIX.

EverBank Field is located in downtown Jacksonville next to the St. Johns River and is the home of the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars.

In 2005, the stadium hosted Super Bowl XXXIX with more than 78,000 people in the crowd, it was the biggest audience since 1994. The stadium received a $47 million face lift prior to hosting this game. Renovations include a sports bar called the "Bud Zone," a bigger scoreboard, escalators and a suite above the "Bud Zone."

Formerly known as the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, the venue also hosts events like the NCAA University of Florida vs. University of Georgia and Gator Bowl football games, monster truck shows and concerts.

Horse around at the Jacksonville Equestrian Center, a recreation facility that specializes in equestrian and animal-related events, like barrel-racing competitions, dressage shows and agility trials for dogs. You'll also find the occasional trade show, circus, concert and demolition derby on special event weekends.

While you'll find plenty of horse-related events at the Jacksonville Equestrian Center, the facility is also open for Monster truck shows, Demolition derby, music concerts and band camp. Plenty of trade shows and special events are held here too, like the annual Florida RV Trade Show and the Piccadilly Circus.

The kids will have a ton of fun watching equestrian and other animal-related events like Pals 'N Paws Agility Trials, barrel racing competitions, dressage shows and Arabian horse shows.

The indoor Championship Arena seats 4,000 spectators and holds most of the larger events at the venue. There are also two outdoor competition arenas, two indoor warm up arenas and nearly 100 full-service RV spaces.

Baseball, basketball and football rule at Jacksonville University, where the Dolphins compete in NCAA Division I athletics. Overall, JU has participated in five NCAA Division I basketball tournaments, 13 NCAA Division I baseball tournaments, and have won a Pioneer Football League title in 2008.

The Jacksonville University Dolphins compete in NCAA Division I athletics and are members of the Atlantic Sun Conference, National Lacrosse Conference and the Pioneer Football League. Jacksonville University has approximately 400 students competing in an intercollegiate varsity sport.

Baseball and football are, of course, men's teams. Women's teams include rowing, softball, indoor/outdoor track and volleyball.

Basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer and tennis are available for both male and female athletes.

JU has participated in five NCAA Division I basketball tournaments and 13 NCAA Division I baseball tournaments. They also won a Pioneer Football League title in 2008.

The Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena also welcomes concerts from some of the most famous entertainers in the world. Elton John was the first performer to grace the arena's stage.
