What better place to host the North American International Auto Show than Motor City? This annual international event was first held at Beller’s Beer Garden in 1907. Today, you can find car collectors and enthusiasts at the Cobo Center in early January, admiring some of the latest models and enjoying sneak previews from industry leaders.

Pay a visit to the Belle Isle Conservancy, the program responsible for the impeccable maintenance of the park ground from the closed Belle Isle Aquarium to the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory and other attractions. Thanks to BIBS staff and volunteers, the Conservatory, gardens and greenhouses in the sprawling Belle Isle Park are a delightful sight to behold.

Learn how to really rock climb at Planet Rock Climbing Gym. This specialty recreation gym contains a unique terrain with almost 100 taped routes along its hundreds of square feet of indoor climbing surfaces. Welcoming both novices and experts, Planet Rock is a great place to get the thrill of scaling the side of a cliff with plenty of safety.

Enjoy the outdoors and a lovely scenic view of the Detroit International Riverfront as you stroll, jog or bike along the Detroit River Walk. This paved pathway essentially consists of a 5.5-mile promenade that runs from the Ambassador Bridge to Belle Isle Park. Stop along one of the plaza or pavilions for some fun at the carousel, butterfly garden or fishing piers.
